Every Christmas there are a few special pieces that capture your hearts (and ours), and before we know it, they’ve completely sold out. There was the year of the golden acorns, the year of the brass tealight holders and, in 2024, our Tealight Crackers caused quite the stir.

“We live and we learn” is a phrase we light-heartedly declare, or sometimes mutter through gritted teeth, at least twice a week. And learn we have. Each Christmas we go a little bigger on the pieces that strike that magical balance of whimsy, price and quality.

Since launching our festive range last week, we’ve already had a glimpse of what this year’s favourites might be. So, consider this a little insider’s guide and an honest update on what to expect as we make our way towards Christmas.

As a small business with limited resources, we always encourage you to snap things up when you see them, especially if you’ve got your eye on something as a Christmas gift. Our handmade pieces are produced in small batches, with the artists and ceramicists we work with often under immense pressure at this time of year. Suppliers can quickly sell out of items that capture the festive zeitgeist, and our carefully crafted home fragrances are finite too.

The Mistletoe Gift Box  £37.90

Supply of the pretty brass mistletoe decorations is looking patchy and could scupper our plans to keep this gift box in stock all the way to Christmas.

Pinecone Fire Lighters £8.95

These are selling unbelievably quickly. We sadly will not have capacity in our workshop to keep making them all the way to Christmas. Grab them if you see them!

Pink Cottage Christmas Cards (Pack of 6) £6.95

Selling fast, which is no surprise, given their price point and the idyllic scene they depict.

Cambridge Imprint Coronets £13.50

Bright, artsy and tastefully festive. You'll have minimal grumbles around the Christmas lunch table when these make an appearance!

Land & Sea Match Pots by Steven Jenkins £27.95

The Oak & Acorn design has stormed ahead in popularity, with Steven making more whenever he can. We recommend signing up for the ‘back in stock’ notification and pouncing when they reappear.

Tealight Crackers from £7.95

Having debuted in 2024, Tealight Crackers are back for another year - this time in sturdier packaging. Almost every order includes at least one, and the Winter Light fragrances are already proving tricky to keep up with.

Handmade Ceramic Animal Decorations - The Botanical Candle Co.

Animal Decorations by Nicky Stewart Smith £11.95

Nicky's spirited little creatures effortlessly find homes. Especially the sparkly-eyed Wren and the wise old Owl.

Green Smoke Footed Hurricane by La Soufflerie £42.95

Fresh in from La Soufflerie in Paris, your winter table will be gently illuminated by the glow of a candle from this footed hurricane. We also love the idea of Paperwhites reaching out of it in January or February. We only have 24 available and once they're gone, they're gone.

Please believe us when we say there’s no interest here in using pressure-sales tactics. We simply want to help you avoid disappointment.

If you spot something online that’s sold out, do sign up for a “back in stock” notification. We check these every day and will often pull stock back from our high street shop to fulfil online requests. It’s always worth a try.

Wishing you all a beautifully scented Christmas - from all of us at The Botanical Candle Co.
