Stoneware Sponge Holder
We've always loved the heavyweight cheese moulds used in France and think they make excellent sink tidies.
With them becoming increasingly scarce, we've worked with Polly & Lucy from Mill & Young to make new versions of these old favourites. There's even the chance to enjoy the classic form with a splash of colour!
You choose between a plain glossy glaze or the charmingly relaxed green flecks - hand applied by the makers. The little feet keep ensure water drains away, and that sponges and brushes can dry out between uses. This is roomy enough for washing up liquid, a sponge and a scrubbing brush.
This useful shape would also work well as a plant holder or a spot to ripen fruit.
Wheel-thrown from stoneware clay that's rich in iron, the firing process brings out deep coloured flecks in the finished piece. Adding character and depth that's akin to an object far older than these are.
