If you're anything like us, March feels like it was about 5 minutes ago and also 5 years ago simultaneously. In a year that has been so far from ordinary, it feels somewhat surreal to be writing about Christmas already. But, some things are certain and the 25th December will be here before we know it.

We've heard many of our small business friends already talking about supply chain issues and the importance of shopping early, and while we try to avoid preaching to you folks too much, it is also vital that we are honest about how the next few weeks may play out. As much as has been possible, we've been squirrelling away for the winter. We've placed big orders with our incredible network of makers and have been brave with our purchasing of candle making ingredients. As we write this, in the last few days of October, we are surrounded by teetering piles of beautiful gifts and candles but it may not be the case forever.

We should also say that we are acutely aware that the luxury of buying gifts early, or at all, is not an option for everybody. The pandemic has put pressure on so many people this year and we never want to overlook that in the mania that is the Christmas build up. Throughout this year, and in the coming weeks especially, we will be regularly donating to charities supporting those in need. Our donations will be made primarily on The Trussell Trust who support a network of over 1,200 food bank centres throughout the UK.

Each Christmas we remind everybody that we will never put the pressure on you to buy something. Whether you follow us on Instagram or come in to the shop in person, we are just so grateful to have you! Please do not feel obliged to buy something if you don't really want it. Anyway, here comes our early bird gift suggestions for a little inspiration...
