Stoneware Straining Plate

This handy straining plate is something you'll reach for again and again, especially if you love to cook.

Polly & Lucy from Mill & Young Ceramics have made these shallow straining plates for us in their Cotswold Studio. You choose between a plain glossy glaze or the charmingly relaxed green flecks - hand applied by the makers. 

We love using these to wash fruit and allow it to dry out, strain a single serving of pasta or serve freshly washed salad leaves in.

Wheel-thrown from stoneware clay that's rich in iron, the firing process brings out deep coloured flecks in the finished piece. Adding character and depth that's akin to an object far older than these are.
